Best Way Pizza was founded in 1955 by Gene Caparella. Mr. Caparella was a railroad employee who used his grandmother's recipe to make pizza, which he would bring to his fellow co-workers. When Mr. Caparella was laid off from the railroad, he decided to open a pizza shop, which he named Best Way Pizza. For the next 25 years, he operated at different locations in central Pennsylvania until retirement in 1980. Craig LeCrone was a UPS driver and a friend and customer of Mr. Caparella.
