G.M. Pollack and Sons was founded by Gerald M. Pollack and his wife Perle when they purchased their first jewelry store in Portland, Maine in 1955. When friends tell us about Mr. Pollack's first store on Congress Street, the first thing they remember is a sense of genuine warmth and friendship. He didn't want his store to have that stuffy, intimidating atmosphere which so many jewelry stores had.
