Jan and Frank Day founded JAFRA Cosmetics International in 1956. They based the philosophy of their new company upon a dual concept: an excellent skin care program and an appealing career opportunity. The couple created a name for their company by combining the “Ja” in Jan’s name with “Fra” of Frank’s name.

As the first JAFRA consultant, Jan Day developed a simple method of introducing the JAFRA Skin Care program and how to use it. Skin Care parties were held in the comfort and convenience of the home were hostesses and clients could try the products and select the one they found most suitable for them. More than just a skin care and cosmetics company, JAFRA Cosmetics International, from its very beginning offered women an opportunity not just to enjoy the products but to have their own business.

Today, the Day legacy lives on in JAFRA’s mission and philosophy.
