Rock climbing is a good way to break the workout grind, and this place is super beginner friendly. They go through a tutorial before you climb and the regulars there are really willing to help.

Rent a chalk bag. Using chalk on your hands keeps them from getting tore up.

This is a great gym with great people. The staff and the members are friendly. The owner is awesome. He cares about his members and provides trips outside the gym to Jacks Canyon, Mnt. Lemon, Camelback, and Queen Creek. If you are looking to get a great workout and meet some friendly people then Ape....

Slightly biased, as this is the first climbing gym I've been to. Nevertheless, the staff has been friendly and able to answer all of my questions. My only complaint is the lack of A/C- they use swamp coolers- but, frankly, you don't really notice it once you get on the wall. I've looked ....
