For more than 35 years, Belk Park Golf Course has been one of the premier golf courses in the state of Illinois. In 1953, the city of Wood River, Ill., received a land donation from the Belk family of more than 200-acres to create an 18-hole championship public golf course and park. The course s season officially opens in April and ends in September, with play continuing throughout the fall and winter seasons.
