Locals: tell them you live in SF (w/ID to prove it) for $5 off an all-day rental. In and out in 5 minutes. Nice guys, and the bike seems decent! After I took the tacky tourist pouch off, of course.
Nice mechanics. Friendly, helpful. Be sure to ask for lights if you're planning on doing any sunrise riding (they aren't standard).

Horrible experience!! Was charged an extra hour because they never explained to us that the clock time for the rental starts when he shows the map. Explained to me when I returned and was upset about the extra hour that him showing me the map is offering me a service. REALLY!!! Do not rent from ....

I've rented bikes here twice now when different visitors have come to town. They recommended the route from the Embarcadero along the Bay, over the bridge, and into Sausalito. A ride over the Golden Gate Bridge is definitely worth it, but don't choose a tandem and use two individual bikes instead. And the trips will easily take 3-4 h if you want to stop here and there to take photos and see stuff.
