There is no better place to spend a frigid winter day than in the Lincoln Park Conservatory. When it's miserable outside you can spend a carefree moment with an enormous array of plant life. Very relaxing to stroll thru before heading back out to Chiberia.
Considering we're in a city and finding nature is limited, it's nice to have spots in Chicago like this, where you can experience nature - even if it is contained and built by mankind. You can experience ferns, and orchids, and cacti - plants we don't see here in Chicago.

Wow the fern room might well be my favorite place in Chicago--it's warm and not painfully dry like so much of Chicago is with constant heating, and they play hilarious jungle noises to go along with the signs that say dinosaurs would have loved it in there back in the day.
