Earth NYC (116A Tenth Ave. between 17th and 18th Street) — the newest restaurant/loun.. read morege in Manhattan's explosive Chelsea District — combines grandeur, space, and spice with sexy warmth and intimacy. Earth NYC makes the aura of South Asia tangible to all, welcoming everyone to indulge and invigorate their senses.

Illuminated by more than 130 flickering candles mounted on a dramatic 30-foot wall, the extraordinary ambiance creates a luminous background for diners and guests alike. Adorned with gorgeous fabrics and sumptuous colors, the space is decorated in rich earth colors with glints of metallics throughout.

The lower level features plush low-slung banquettes for ample seating, pools of floating flowers, and a crescent-shaped bar decorated with dramatic floral arrangements. Cozy lipstick-red leather chairs and dark-wood tables with sleek white place settings are counterpoints to vivid Indian accents. To the right is an open staircase leading to a loft-style upper level for additional dining and private seating.

The new dinner menu at Earth NYC presents a cool, clean, modern take on fabulous South Asian fare. Classics are reinvigorated and reconceptualized by exceptionally fresh ingredients, sophisticated spicing, and textural contrasts.

The new menu offers generous servings and gorgeous plating. Signature plates from the three-chef kitchen include Daal palak ka shorba (lush and luscious home-style yellow lentil stew with spinach and hints of lime, finished with butter), Jaitooni kebab (minced lamb and olives), and Bhindi Fry (dangerously addictive crispy okra seasoned with chaat masala). Another Earth NYC specialty! An exciting, original cocktail list, featuring Vodka Pani Puri, Lychee Martini, Earth Caipirinha and Orange Martini.

Playing an active role in bringing this explosive vibe to Earth is Manish Malhotra, one of Asia’s top stylists. His bold fashion statements combine the elegance and beauty of Indian fabrics with the most cutting-edge European visuals.
