Whats not to love about Edelweiss? Got a new job, and figured what better place to celebrate than at a German restaurant with good, big beers. I've lived in...

I had authentic German food in Hanau and this was not what I expected. Pom frits came from Walmart and the red cabbage came out of a can. Not what I expected.

Honestly, only time I come in here is for the fish fry and it's amazing.

When the urge for a few steins, a heaping platter of sausages, and crispy-skinned roast duck strikes, this Teutonic stalwart and its oompah band await.

Try the pork goulash. They're red cabbage and potato pancakes are amazing!

Far from the best Getman place. The german Liver 'dumpling'(meatball) soup is actually an upsale, doesn't come with dinner. And the sausage sampler is actually 2 types of sausage sliced in many pieces

The place was nearly empty, yet the service was horrible, rude waiter, I couldn't wait to get out of the restaurant. Worthless. If this place goes out of business tomorrow, the dining experience in Chicago would be richer for it.

Cozy, great food. Been coming here with friends for years before moving out of state. Recent renovations improved it further.
