$15.00 for $30.00 - "west Side Story": the Beloved Broadway Musical

    Tip

When it first dazzled the world, West Side Story was hailed as "the only classic that gets .. read moreyounger " -- and it's still true today. While the vibrancy of other shows fades over time, this brilliant reworking of Romeo and Juliet only seems to get brighter and fresher and more potent with each passing decade. Collaborators Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim set Shakespeare's romantic tragedy in '50s New York to explosive effect -- launching not only a Tony-winning Broadway run, but a movie that would win 10 Oscars. Told through breathtaking dance numbers and rapturous songs like "Something's Coming," "Tonight," "America" and "I Feel Pretty," the familiar tale of "star-crossed lovers" takes on a compelling urgency and gritty relevance. Now Christina Hoff directs an exciting new production for Fabrefaction Theatre Conservatory.

We saw "A Flea in Her Ear" and we all laughed until we cried! What made this performance so incredible was that the actors had only two weeks to prepare for the three nights. It was billed as a reading, but most of the performers had their lines memorized. We were not even distracted by those who use....
