Ben Jones, Owner Ben grew up making traditional Chinese dumplings with his mother and throwing untraditional dinner parties with his father. He moved to New York City in 2002 with the dream of opening a restaurant. Seven years later he did. He also owns Southside Coffee, located directly across the street from Lot 2, and two blocks away from his home. Katherine Dyer, Owner Katie’s restaurant career began at age nine, when Sunday mornings she would work alongside her grandparents in their restaurant-- bussing tables, hosting, occasionally washing dishes. Despite the hard labor, she is certain her grandparents are the source of all goodness in the world. Most recently, Katie served as Project Director for Connecticut based Wholesome Wave Foundation, where in addition to managing Farmers Markets, she launched outreach programs aimed at providing families in underserved communities with greater access to fresh, local food. Prior to moving to the East Coast, Katie owned two San Francisco restaurants, 42 Degrees and The Slow Club. Daniel Rojo, Chef Daniel Rojo was born and raised in Los Angeles. He attended culinary school in 2004 in order to escape corporate life and pursue what he really cared about: cooking. After stints in Los Angeles and Oakland he moved to New York and began finding work in three star restaurants. He soon became disenchanted with Manhattan fine dining, as it reminded him of the corporate hell he had escaped from. These days, Daniel is grateful to visit the green market often and cook simple, honest food for his friends and neighbors.
