Mount Vernon was home to George Washington for more than 45 years. Washington enlarged the residence and built up the property from 2,000 to nearly 8,000 acres. See video for more history.

Take a photo of the tulips before going in. They're gorgeous. Also watch the interesting 20 min film on Washington before heading outdoors to visit the gardens and house.

Visit our first president's beloved home seven days a week, 365 days a year, but first take a look at this 1970s photo of the estate from our Documerica collection.

Beautiful, historic, well taken care of. Can't go wrong visiting the first president's estate. I absolutely enjoy going to visit. President Washington's home is full of so much to explore and observe. Everyone needs to put this place on their list of places to visit.
