For less than 10 bucks the Oakland Zoo is a great place for a nice casual relaxing day. Not one of the biggest zoo's but always one of my favorite close to home faves.

Great place, love the kids zoo. Make sure to check out the meerkats and cotton topped tamarins.

Favorite place to pull out a snack and rest are the benches in front of Gibbon Island. Have a little patience, give these apes some of your time and they will entertain you with amazing acrobatics.

This was my first visit to the Zoo my family and i were just enjoyed the surroundings, the train ride was a Happy ride the sites the view of the east bay all wonderful, What i really want to comment on is that All the young employee's at the Zoo they were just AWESOME, i deal with mission critic....

I really like this zoo for the service and great atmosphere. One of my favorite parts about the zoo is the train that travels all around the park. This zoo has a lot of exotic animals and great views and shows I would recommend going to this zoo for all ages.

A good zoo with a variety of animals and activities. Great for kids. However, food options are poor and the place could do with some updating and fresh ideas.
