Newly relocated to Chelsea from the East Village, this vintage jewelry resource is appropriately located adjacent to the 17th Street flea market. Like the original, the space is replete with worn oriental rugs, gorgeous antique cases and a trove of extremely affordable costume baubles (they have drawers packed with bits for $5). If you’re willing to spend a little more, you can score undeniably beautiful pieces—carved cameos, onyx rings inset with diamonds—for around $100. There’s a carriage house behind the space that offers a small trove of antique furniture, paintings and tchotchkes, with the same emphasis on affordability.

Pippin Vintage Jewelry boasts a huge selection of costume jewelry—spanning a century of fashion and style—as well as gold, gold-filled, and sterling estate jewelry. Other offerings include cuff-links, watches, vanity items, mirrors, hats, art objects, and vintage materials for the designer/crafter. Owners Steve and Rachel Cooper search every week to bring in new and interesting inventory at reasonable prices. Come visit! All cards.
The beauty of petite jewelry store Pippin is that it's accessible and non-intimidating, as there are pieces here for every price range. The store, opened by Chelsea Flea Market vets in 2004, offers a wealth of vintage and antique baubles starting at $5. Husband-and-wife owners Steve and Rachel Cooper had originally set up shop below Delancey on the Lower East Side, but recently relocated to a larger space on 17th Street. Thankfully, the laid-back, browser-friendly feel of the store has remained intact despite the move. Stop in to find all types of jewelry, from simple silver and gold pieces to flashy Bakelite, as well as men's items like cuff links and tie pins, all at insanely good prices.
