We offer a range of educational and care programs for children of all ages: from infants to toddlers, two year olds to preschoolers, and kindergartners to school-age kids who come to the Academy before and after school. We're very proud of our unparalleled preschool curriculum, and that in setting higher standards for educating young children we've invested more than $1.3 million in books and new materials and nearly 20,000 hours of teacher training. Our headquarters are in Chicago, however, each of our Academies is licensed by the state where it operates. Each adheres to the highest standards of safety, security, cleanliness, teaching and loving care.
We have the resources of a large company, such as our own Education Department to set programs and curricula, as well as top training and professional development for our teachers. But, we also offer a small community environment at each of our local Academies. Each Academy operates the way any good neighborhood business does. We know our community and we understand how best to serve the parents and children who live there.
La Petite Academy's History
La Petite Academy was established in 1968, with the purchase of seven university-sponsored centers. Today we operate 570 schools, including Montessori Unlimited. We are a pioneer in center-based care and our Preschool Curriculum has set the standard for preschool education. We are also a recognized leader in before and after school programs, summer and holiday camps and corporate programs.
In January 2007, we became part of the Learning Care Group family.
