It is more expensive, but much better tasting. Different types of pepperoni were meticulously cooked off to determine the precise balance between taste, texture and appearance. Using this process with various sausages and other toppings resulted in a combination of toppings that compliments our special dough. In order to achieve the best pizza, the right sauces had to be developed to compliment the already unique crust, gourmet cheeses and toppings. This was no easy task, but after hundreds of pizzas, the perfect sauces were found! Each pizza made at Pier 49 Pizza is now offered with a choice of our own zesty tomato, alfredo, pesto, spinach, barbecue, cajun, garlic, or southwest sauce. We continue to experiment with toppings, to ensure that our product is always improving and always meeting the high standards our customers have come to expect from us. Each new product we introduce to our menu must pass a very strict testing period before it can carry the Pier 49 Pizza name.
