It all began in August of 1998 when I brought home Lucy, my new Golden Retriever puppy. Knowing that providing treats as a reward was an effective way to train Lucy, I immediately began to search for just the right treats. To my dismay the grocery store shelves were filled with products that contained preservatives and ingredients that I couldn’t even pronounce. I raised my two children on nutritious, homemade meals and I made the decision that Lucy deserved only the best as well. Over the next several months I developed an assortment of nutritious treats from scratch that my taste-tester Lucy absolutely loved. Soon requests for my delicious treats became more than I could keep up with in my little kitchen. I convinced my daughter to move her dog grooming business to Washington Pennsylvania so that we could open a dog bakery and grooming shop at historic Quail Acres. The rest is history. Our new shop featured our exclusive dog treats, specialty dog merchandise, a full grooming salon and dog birthday parties on our dog playground complete with cake and ice cream made especially for dogs. To make a long story short, the next five years have been unbelievable. We opened a new 7,000 square foot bakery and home office; we have been featured on the “Today Show” and have been invited to sell our products on QVC. We’ve opened a large number of franchise locations around the nation so that dogs everywhere can experience the treats I developed for Lucy years ago in my kitchen.
