Our name change reflects the transformation of our cleaning technology from a Perchloroethlyene (PERC) base, which is the solvent traditionally used by the dry cleaning industry, to a CO2 technology which is the state of the art. The Environmental Protection Agency identified PERC as a possible human carcinogen and put it on the Clean Air Act’s list of solvents whose emissions were to be regulated and reduced. Greener Cleaners use of CO2 solvents eliminates the need for Perc and replaces it with natural liquid carbon dioxide, the same substance that makes sparkling water “fizzy”. Our new technology is not only better for the environment, it is also gentler on your clothes and leaves the smelling fresher.
