About
In 1908, the Model T was introduced to the public
and the first mile of concrete was laid in
Detroit. It was also the year that a nineteen-
year-old boy opened his first roadside crushing
operation in Bloomington, Indiana. The company,
now known as Rogers Group, Inc., was founded by
Ralph Rogers and is still owned by the Rogers
family. In its 100-year history, the company has
become the largest privately owned crushed stone
producer in the nation and the seventh largest
producer overall employing 1,600 employees in
facilities across five states.
Quarries producing crushed stone remain the
foundation of the company. Hot mix asphalt, road
construction, sand & gravel, asphalt paving, and
retaining block/wall, all play integral parts in
the company's profile as well.
Producing quality construction aggregates in
harmony with neighboring communities and the
environment is a top priority to Rogers Group and
its employees.
Rogers Group recognizes employees as its greatest
asset. Safety both on and off the job is the
company's highest priority. Employees are
encouraged to continuously improve themselves.
Through ongoing training and education, employees
are afforded many opportunities to master a new
subject or refine an existing skill. Achievement
of excellence, whether on the job or in the
community, is recognized and rewarded. This
atmosphere creates a sense of pride and
participation as the people of Rogers Group work
together to realize their full potential.
Rogers Group has helped dozens of communities use
its natural resources to transform its physical
environments. By serving as a convenient,
economical source for raw materials, Rogers Group
has helped build better roads and highways,
schools and playgrounds, office buildings and
hospitals. The company's leadership in
environmental stewardship, facility
beautification, and community involvement help
build a better life in communities where Rogers'
employees live and work.
