About
The story of Three Brothers Restaurants is a first rate American success story. In 1976, three sons of a hard-working Italian family moved the family business from Brooklyn, New York to Greenbelt, Maryland to make good on their father’s dreams of success. After 30 years of hard work, one family restaurant has grown into a thriving corporation serving the entire region with 15 locations throughout Maryland. Originally from Rapone, Italy, Michael, Mario and Peter Repole have participated in every part of the business – from using family recipes for making their famous sauce and entrees to developing both in-center and free standing Three Brothers restaurants. The original Greenbelt, Maryland location is still a thriving operation, doing well over a million dollars in business every year. Many of its existing customers are children and grandchildren of people that have been served by Three Brothers Restaurants since the beginning. This reinforces the notion of family, which the company tries to create in its customers and employees. The company tends to promote from within. Almost 90 percent of the managers and franchise owners have come from within the company. Even when they come from outside the system, they have typically been associated with the company as customers for many years. As the company expanded, it was clear that more capacity would be needed to provide the imported raw materials and specialty items required for the unique blend of family and traditional recipes. The Three Brothers Italian Kitchen was created to provide the company with necessary buying power, as well as creating a first-class Italian imports market within easy reach of Washington, D.C. and its suburbs. A bakery and Italian ice manufacturing facility were also added to this plant. The Three Brothers Italian Kitchen is located on Kenilworth Avenue in Bladensburg, Maryland. Three Brothers Italian Restaurants’ plans for growth include expansion from the existing 15 to 20 units by 2008. The year 2006 has seen those plans realized as stores in Laurel and Bel Air have since opened. In late summer of 2007 a franchise at University Town Center, near Prince George’s Plaza in Hyattsville, will open along with La Plata. In early 2008, a new shopping center featuring a brand new Three Brothers Italian Restaurant will be opening in Prince Frederick, Maryland! <img src="http://www.threebrotherspizza.com/images/268_thebrothers1.jpg">
