In an effort to oversee all aspects of the business the Vhay family moved into the original farmhouse. Mrs. Vhay became Mrs. Wayne Niles in 1991 and eventually transferred ownership to her nephew and his wife Mr. and Mrs. Jason Street. Working together, the entire family contributes to maintaining the century-old tradition of the best homemade ice cream and sweet treats in the 21st century. Encouraged by this early and sustained success, the Street family quickly realized that their Applegate Farm concept had fulfilled their founding expectations. Now, they decided to take the next step in their plans for expansion: franchising Applegate Farm. The Street family decided to franchise their operations rather than pursue other strategies because they believe that persons who have vested interest in their own business as franchisees are likely to be the most motivated and dedicated partners in the continued growth and success of Applegate Farm.
