One day back in 1967, Dave DeBruler and Jean Vitale were given the opportunity to purchase the first Beef-A-Roo restaurant. Despite a lack of restaurant experience or training, they both said 'Yes!' Beef-A-Roo has been a Rockford tradition ever since. Beef-A-Roo has seen many changes in the 40 years that followed. The original menu included beef and ham sandwiches, potato chips, and soft drinks, which were served at a walk-up counter for take- out dining. By the mid-70's, menu expansion was in full swing.
