About
Clarkson Eyecare is more than a comprehensive eye care practice. For 30 years Clarkson Eyecare has continued to expand with the changing times to offer its patients the ultimate experience. Clarkson Eyecare introduced its first LASIK facility in 1999 and recently added another state-of-the-art facility in 2007 in Fairview Heights, IL. Clarkson Eyecare is the only St. Louis-based provider to offer iLASIK™. This procedure is the only LASIK approved by NASA and the U.S. Military. Clarkson Eyecare enjoys giving back to the community so in 2004 it created what is known as the Clarkson Eyecare Foundation. This nonprofit organization allows eye care and eye glasses to be given to those in need. The foundation has two free vision clinics at the Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Clubs in downtown St. Louis, provides LASIK to the physically challenged, travels on mission trips to other countries and provides vision improvement to those individuals in the community who are in need. Clarkson Eyecare began marketing its very own software to other practices in 2006. This software enables eye doctors and staff to create a better patient experience. Appointments, billing, inventory and now the eye exam itself is done electronically with Clarkson Eyecare’s very own software. The very latest technology and equipment are used to ensure the most current and up-to-date comprehensive eye exam and medical care are performed. You may learn about the many facets of Clarkson Eyecare within this website. Clarkson Eyecare was founded in 1979 by Lawrence J. Jehling, O.D. and Lynette S. Lui, O.D. as the Jehling-Lui Eye Associates on Clarkson Road in Ellisville, Missouri. In March of 1987, Dr. Jehling moved the practice one block north to its current location and renamed the practice Clarkson Eyecare. A few years later, Dr. Jehling opened a second office in Pacific, Missouri, called Pacific Eyecare. A full-service lens-grinding laboratory was then added to the Pacific location. Drs. James Wachter, Henry Allhoff, Katherine Reynolds and Robert Lamberg, along with Dr. Jehling and his brother, Gerald Jehling, merged the Ellisville and Pacific offices with Osage Eyecare in House Springs, Missouri, and The Eye Institute of St. Louis in Clayton, Missouri, in 1995. All four offices took the name Clarkson Eyecare. The merger ignited the rapid growth of the company. Today, Clarkson Eyecare has offices in 141 & Olive, 79 Crossing, 94 Crossing, Arnold, Ballwin, Bogey Hills, Brentwood Pointe, Butler Hill, Chesterfield, Chesterfield Valley, Creve Coeur, Ellisville, Eureka, Fenton, Festus, Florissant-Dunn, Florissant-Hwy. 67, Harvester, High Ridge, House Springs, Kirkwood, Maplewood, Mid Rivers, Oakville, O'Fallon North, O'Fallon South, Pacific, Rock Hill, South County, Town & Country Crossing, Town & Country-Mason, Troy, Union, Warrenton, Washington, Webster Groves, Wentzville, and Wildwood, MO and Belleville, Columbia, Edwardsville, Fairview Heights, and Shiloh, IL.
