The Luigi’s Pizza Kitchen we’ve all come to know and love is a bustling three-store operation with a large, diverse menu full of delicious, authentic Italian meals to suit even the most discerning palate. This, however, was not always the case! Luigi’s Pizza Kitchen opened for business in October of 1998 with a single store located on Hwy 248 in Branson. Chris Jordan, the owner of Luigi’s Pizza Kitchen who grew up in St. Louis, was accustomed to a thin-crust, “St. Louis Style” pizza and decided it was his mission to bring a little taste of St. Louis to the Ozarks. In the beginning, the menu was small--mostly just pizza and salads. The restaurant was largely regarded as a “hole in the wall” pizzeria tucked away next to a grocery store. As the number of Luigi’s “fans” grew and with the overwhelming, positive response from area residents, a second Luigi’s opened on Branson’s south side by the Lawrence Welk Resort in March of 2000. Then, something amazing happened. Customers asked for MORE! Slowly, the menu began to expand. Over the next six years, sandwiches, dinner salads, pastas and Italian entrees were added to the Luigi’s offering, holding their own against both the signature St. Louis style and traditional hand-tossed pizzas that continue to be staples of the menu. Not only did our customers want more menu items, they wanted MORE LOCATIONS! In July of 2006, Luigi’s opened its third location. The new store, located in Nixa, MO (halfway between Branson and Springfield) marked the beginning of the operation’s NORTHERN EXPANSION! The restaurant was expertly designed, tastefully decorated and seated more than twice the people than the original location could. Luigi’s was very warmly received in Nixa, and residents were happy to have an authentic Italian restaurant close to home without having to drive into Springfield! The only catch to the entire affair was that the new store in Nixa gave Springfield residents the idea to beckon for a Luigi’s of their own even farther North! Hopefully, within the next several years, Luigi’s will have expanded into the Springfield area as promised! Through it all and since the very beginning, Luigi’s has been an independent, family owned and operated restaurant with the highest standards when it comes to the quality of our food and service. Our mission is simple. We want our food to be consistently perfect, we want to pride ourselves on over-the-top service and we ALWAYS want to give back to the communities in which we operate. That’s Luigi’s! No corporate gimmicks, no fancy agendas, just great food, amazing service and overwhelming gratitude for our loyal customers!
