Salt Lake City – Sept. 30, 2009–Maverik, Inc. opens its 200th store in Naples, Utah. “This is a very exciting day and major milestone for us,” said Maverik Spokesperson Brad Call. “Maverik has been growing in an effort to serve our valued customers in their neighborhoods and wherever they travel in the intermountain west. At Maverik we work hard to offer a large range of food and convenience products, while also providing a great value on gasoline.” Maverik founder Reuel Call opened his first store in 1928 in Afton, Wyoming at the age of 20. The convenience chain was named “Maverick” after the popular television show starring James Garner in the 60’s. Since then, Maverik has expanded across seven states in the western U.S. and employs over 3,000 people. Recently the company surpassed $1 billion in revenue, though they are not stopping there. “We have an aggressive growth plan to reach 300 stores and $3 billion in revenue in the next few years,” Call said. Family owned, Maverik is run by the third generation of the Call family. The company operates from a strong sense of community responsibility and shows community support by being a major sponsor of the Special Olympics. Maverik, Inc. is a western-based convenience store and gas station chain with 200 locations throughout Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming.
