Ray’s concept was to create the old-style pizza parlor, with a relaxed, friendly and family-oriented atmosphere. At the same time, he wanted to give families a healthier option by using all natural ingredients, including 100% unbleached whole wheat flour. Although specializing in pizza, Pepperoni’s offers a wide variety of unique subs, salads, pastas, calzones and desserts. In 1997, the second Pepperonis location opened, with seven more following over the next few years. Currently two of the locations are franchised and plans for several more franchise locations are in development. Ray’s concept has been awarded several times over the years, most recently being named one of the Elite 8 at the 2008 International Pizza Challenge. This award joins a growing list of awards that Pepperoni’s has been recognized with including: top honors for Traditional Pizza and second place for Gourmet Pizza at the 2007 Southwest Pizza and Italian Expo; Houston Chronicles “Ultimate Houston” Delivery Pizza, and numerous clean restaurant awards for our different locations.
