I became a dietitian as a second career. After a layoff due to a reduction in work force in 2009, I decided it was time to make a change and pursue a career that I was passionate about. Ive always had an interest in health and nutrition, however, when faced with two chronic illnesses myself, I decided to pursue a career in dietetics to help patients achieve long-term health.
